ReplyDeleteI hope that you will enjoy The Heretic queen :D Moran is so good with historical fiction
DeleteI've gotten so tired of Robert Jordan. Maybe because I am not a very patient reader. But I need to try out Michael Sullivan :)

ReplyDeleteI hope that Lady most willing will arrive soon. Hurry up mailman
DeleteI've only read one of the books on your list, B, and that is CeeCee Honeycutt. I'm sorry to say that I found it naive and not a credible story at all. In such a setting it was just an unrealistic fairytale and I was so very disappointed. I liked the beginning of the story very much but after CeeCee moved away it was all a downward spiral for me.
ReplyDeleteOther than that there are several books on your best list that I really want to read :D
I have to add that I liked Beth Hoffman's beautiful writing, but I guess I wanted the story itself to have a more realistic ring to it. The story had some pretty memorable characters which I loved :) I was a little harsh in my last comment and it sounded like I might have hated the book and that I did not so I felt like rectifying that.
DeleteThe reasons you state for disliking it were the ones why I adored it. I love a bit of magical realism, bit or just a hint of things. When the author manages to make it feel right. Not like with pnr which never feels real.
DeleteBut we are all different :) There has to be people that does not care for a book too. Cos I do not trust books loved by all. I feel that only the author's friends must have read it ;)
Looks like you had a great reading year.
ReplyDeleteI sure did :D
DeleteMidas is pretty cute!! I love your list and am pinning it to my Pinterest board to be able to reference!!!
ReplyDeletePlease do :D
DeleteMidas sure is a cutie
