  1. I dislike namedropping/brand-dropping. So distracting.

  2. Boo, on Six of Crows. I feel like it's the only Bardugo novel I genuinely liked. That's unfortunate.

  3. I'm still a little tempted to buy Six of Crows just for that cover.

  4. Sorry to hear about Six of Crows! I didn't think it was as amazing as the hype made it to be, but I guess I still had a good time with it.

  8. Nooo, I love Six of Crows! But I didn't think it was slow at all, so I think maybe Bardugo's style is just for me and it maybe didn't work out for you. Sorry to hear it but I hope you find some books you can get through soon!

  11. I haven't finished Bardugo's 1st series yet, but Six of Crows did seem to have more hype than it could ever live up to...

  12. I just can't stand it when a book is boring----its the worst.

  13. I had a couple this week that were 'no can do's, too. Sometimes it's just best to set it down and move on. Huh, don't think I've read one that had lots of name-dropping, but I can see how that would get old.

  15. I've thought about Six of Crows, but not hard. I'm not a fan of name dropping either. J.R. Ward does it a lot. It became a joke, Get the brands of t-shirts and underwear, but I joked that I couldn't go on because I didn't know what brand of jeans he was wearing. LOL

    1. Oh she sure did the namedropping haaaard. It 's just too much sometimes, it was like, I want to know about her, not what she is wearing

  16. Life is far too short to read books we don't like.

  17. Haha. I want to see Luci eating the DNF's!

I hate when a book is overloaded with pop culture references or name/brand dropping. Annoying!!
